AIGA San Francisco Design Library

We at AIGA SF believe that as design becomes increasingly mainstream and its relevance and importance to other professions becomes clearer, the need for design history, research, scholarship and discourse expands. Therefore, in recognition of the generative relationship of design scholarship to design excellence, AIGA SF has founded a Design Library at our offices on Sutter Street.

The Library is available to AIGA members by appointment by sending a request through our website contact form.

We intend to make this library an exceptional place to deepen knowledge, stimulate thinking and promote professionalism. Additionally, the Design Library at AIGA SF adds value to membership, builds design community and outreaches to the city at large.

Before coming to the library in person, you may wish to preview our collection on LibraryThing. (Please note: Catalog updates are in progress.)

We kicked off the library with the Shelf:Life event on February 7, 2008. If you have questions about the library, please contact our design history chair, Carolina de Bartolo.
